Office 12 of the Autonomous Administration of State Monopolies (AAMS) has been very busy, with the release of permits for 41 new newslot models during August. This is a record, giving some reassurance to those who have made investments in the second generation AWP market.
Under the leadership of Dr. Armando Iaccarino, the AAMS group of experts dealing with automatic gaming claim to have achieved excellent results, which can be described in a more factual and unbiased way by quoting data relating to these activities:
157 newslot 2 models certificated;
80,000 smart cards delivered against 85,000 requested;
78,000 smart cards associated with as many comma 6 machines.
All this hard work has resulted in a market of about 70,000 machines that have received distribution permits, of which 45,000 have already obtained permits for commissioning and 40,000 are active and fully operational around the country.
The work done is all the more interesting if we take into account the fact that a total of 62 different manufacturers have obtained certification for a model. In the meantime the number of accredited manufacturers continues to grow, to reach by the end of August a total of 130 Companies formally requesting the certification of one of their models. Increasing also is the number of card manufacturers: as of today, there are 80 in existence, but of these only 11 have obtained the certification for at least one of their models.
