As the Amusement and Music Operators Association (AMOA) celebrated its 60th anniversary trade show and convention in Las Vegas, from September 10 to 12, association leaders happily acknowledged the enormous advances and innovations in the industry. They proudly pointed to a continuous willingness to adapt and addressed the needs of an evolving, ever changing marketplace.
Through six decades of entertaining multiple generations, the amusement industry has met the changing marketplace demographics. Industry leaders claimed that the survival and successes of the amusement industry can be attributed to quality operators, creative technology and solid business practices.
The AMOA unveiled a new economical website creation and maintenance service at the show. The program will help member operating companies establish their company's professional presence on the Internet while eliminating extensive development and operational fees.
During the convention 2006 AMOA President and 25-year industry veteran Jim Pietrangelo conducted an Internet seminar. He owns an operating company in Virginia and an online news portal. Pietrangelo also runs a web management and website design firm.
As a special offer from the AMOA from the Industry Promotion Committee, Pietrangelo offered to waive the standard $50 website development fee for the first 50 registered companies. The service has already been tested by several leading operators, who reported their satisfaction with the process.
The development phase creates a basic template, making it easy for participating operators to enter the appropriate content. Shortly after completing that section, the operator will receive a web address and a site. The website includes several pages of specific information about the company, its equipment and services.
Anyone using the service is charged a $100 annual renewal/maintenance fee, payable on the date coinciding with the subscriber's site going live.
