Organisers of ATEI, which takes place at London's Earls Court Exhibition Centre across 27-29 January, have added business knowledge enrichment to the programme of activities scheduled for the 2009 edition with the announcement of a high profile Redemption Seminar, offering show visitors valuable insight and operational tips on what an increasing number of amusements operators are discovering as their fastest-growing profit centre.
The free seminar, which takes place on both the first and second days (Tuesday 27th, Wednesday 28th) of the show, will provide an overview of redemption concepts and in-depth analysis of three essential elements including merchandising, equipment and best practice procedures. It will be presented by renowned US redemption expert, Michael Getlan.
Director of ‘Enthusiasm and Opportunity' for Amusement Consultants, New Roc Entertainment and Smiles Amusement facilities, Getlan is author of the book "How much is that Doggie in the Showcase?" and makes frequent editorial contributions to leading industry trade journals. As a third-generation operator, consultant and avid game player, Michael has a unique perspective on the operational side of the FEC business. Past member of the Board of the International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions and recipient of the 2005 IAAPA Meritorious Service Award, he is affiliated to IAAPA, TEA, IALEI and the World Clown Association.
Getlan described his forthcoming presentation at ATEI as ‘a fun and fast seminar with lots of audience interaction', adding: "Participants will gain a better understanding of redemption operations and a clear action plan for improving their own configurations."
Clarion Gaming's Head of Exhibitions, Karen Cooke commented: "With operators, distributors and manufacturers facing challenges from a number of restrictive trading conditions, it's our intention to provide ATEI ‘09 attendees with a raft of ideas designed to help stimulate new business. The Redemption Seminar is the first of a series of new initiatives to complement the huge range of new equipment and services on display that will assist operators in improving their competitive edge in 2009."
