Preview success for The Jukebox from Sound
Published:  06 November, 2008

Sound Leisure enjoyed a particularly successful Preview show this year - due to the interest in the company's latest machine, named simply "The Jukebox".

The wall-mounted unit is available as an audio only or audio/video combination and contains Sound Leisure's latest MIM software with a host of new features, all designed to increase site footfall and machine cashbox.

"The Jukebox was undoubtedly the star of the show for us," says Chris Black, Managing Director, Sound Leisure. "Visitors to the stand were extremely impressed with the range of features that the unit has been programmed to offer. For such a compact machine, the Jukebox packs in an awful lot of features. Since the release of the original Milestones technology there have been many advancements in hardware, and due to this we have been able to develop a platform that offers exceptional music selection and search facilities along with outstanding technical features at a more cost effective price."

The main features of "The Jukebox" that impressed visitors to Preview, are as follows:

Bingo - Sound Leisure has augmented the jukebox functionality by adding an interactive Bingo capability to the system. This enables pubs, clubs and other organisations to take advantage of laws that permit Bingo to be played without a gaming licence where the stakes do not exceed £2000 per 7 day period.

The Bingo software allows the site manager to enter their own manager's menu on screen. The stake which is being played for is then entered and the game can either be called via a microphone or by simply letting the unit call the number automatically.

"The Bingo feature is a great way of getting customers into the bar on a quiet night and is extremely simple to run as it has built in audio calling and simple to follow on screen instructions," said Chris Black.

Dynamic Photo System - In addition, Sound is launching the Dynamic Photo System. This allows site owners to create their own on-screen ads with visuals at any time. No more generic adverts: operators simply take a picture and add it to the jukebox or allow the site to create their own on their PC and download it to the machine directly via a USB lead or card reader accessed via the managers key switch on the side of the machine.

Sporting Events - For sporting events, Sound Leisure has programmed major UK and international football teams' logos onto the system. All the site owner/manager needs to do is to enter the event date and it will be displayed on screen. This is accessed via the manager's switch.

What's On Guide - The "What's on" events guide is located on the scrolling category bar. This feature has been added to allow the manager on site to display a calendar of forthcoming events. This feature encourages customers to visit the jukebox to see what's on in a particular location.
