The Bell-Fruit Group has announced plans to review its structure and cost base in response to a much-reduced UK gambling machine industry. The decline in the pub business and implementation of the new Gambling Act has resulted in the anticipated demand for Category "C" gambling machines reducing dramatically for the coming year. Despite this, BFG have done a great job in achieving the highest market share on record.
The review will include relocating Mazooma Games from Newark to the Bell-Fruit premises in Nottingham, and while Mazooma will continue as a separate organisation within the group, the restructure may lead to redundancies in both companies.
John Austin, Group MD said "A bottom up assessment of the Category "C" market size for the coming year, along with a poor outlook in other sectors, necessitates a review of our current operations in order to reposition the business to meet future demands. We have therefore commenced a period of consultation and it is my sincere intention that matters are conducted in a professional and fair manner."
