A Club promoted by COFAR (the Spanish Confederation of Gaming Businesses) has been created for young business people. The event was attended by the Mayor of Madrid, Don Alberto Ruiz Gallardón, also present were Don Manuel Lao, President of COFAR and Chairman of the CIRSA Group of companies and Don Eusebi Cima, President of the Federation of Small and Medium Businesses (FEPIME).
This club for young business people is aimed at the second generation of entrepreneurs in the gaming and leisure industry, who are now continuing the work that their predecessors began in their day. The mission of the club, whose scope is nationwide, is to provide a forum for them to meet, exchange experiences, learn about multi-disciplines and social awareness, with special emphasis on corporate and environmental social responsibility.
The main function of the club is to organise periodic meetings that include training seminars, working lunches with leading figures in the field and also professional trips. It is their own members who contribute to the organisation of the events with their ideas, proposals and ability to manage. The club has been structured into working committees; as of today those that have been set up cover Training, Social Responsibility, Image and Communication, Sector Training and Forums. At the same event, Eduardo Antoja, Vice-president of COFAR, introduced the COFAR WORKSHOP to those present. This will be responsible for developing practical seminars in the near future and will be of great interest to the professionals and businessmen in the sector. The first seminar will take place in Madrid on 10th and 11th December 2008, entitled: "Influence. Developing Negotiating Skills".
