The house of Gauselmann with the Merkur Star company is presenting its first AWP – Multigambler. And NSM-Löwen Entertainment now has Novo Line, the first cash payout machine on the market from the parent company Novomatic. In Germany this new generation of video AWPs has been long awaited. In the eyes of many slotmachine manufacturers, machines of this type represent real progress, made possible by the new gaming law. Certainly in the last few months, the industry has also succeeded in building very successful AWPs adapted from existing models – but designed in accordance with the new law. Above all, the so-called ‘Punktgeldspieler’ (Points AWPs) – named after ‘Fun-Geldspieler’ (Fun AWPs) – look like being very successful. The principle of the game admittedly goes back to the time of the previous gaming laws, but is only one year old. It opens up the possibility of converting money within the legally prescribed methods into points and these points can then be used in a completely independent way to play and use as stakes. Only when converting the points back into money must the legal stipulations, such as playing time, be adhered to again. The new Multigambler is based on the same principle, but has completely new game content.
