Sound Leisure was recently short-listed for an innovation award, as part of the Manufacturer Live programme in association with the Royal Bank of Scotland.
The UK-wide awards which celebrate outstanding achievement in UK manufacturing, design and innovation saw, Sound Leisure rubbing shoulders with companies such as Lotus, KPMG, Rolls Royce and BAE Systems at the presentation evening in London.
Sound Leisure achieved a place in the seven-strong innovation short-list presented in association with the UK Design Council, fighting off competition from hundreds of other entries. In addition to its class-leading jukebox products, the Leeds-based company was commended for its outstanding creative contribution, which has produced a wide range of unique retail point of purchase, point of sale and flat panel speaker products branded under its SLR (Sound Leisure Retail) title.
Sound Leisure's Mike Black commented, "It's a real achievement to be short-listed for this award and it is particularly satisfying given that the honour coincided with the company's 30th anniversary. We have always been a company that has focused its energy on creative thinking and innovation to maintain our competitiveness.
"When you consider the countless number of successful products SL has produced over 30 years with comparatively limited resources and personnel, it's a huge achievement to be short-listed in such esteemed company and something of which we are all justifiably proud."
