Elo TouchSystems showed its latest gaming monitor, the 2240L, features a wide viewing angle panel (178° x 178°) in the 22" widescreen format and delivers all the traditional Elo advantages - designed for touch, long product life cycle and wide choice of touch technologies - in a slim housing. Aimed at casino applications, the 2240L can be supplied with surface acoustic wave, capacitive or acoustic pulse recognition (APR) touch technology within exactly the same form factor.
Elo also showed the latest developments in multi-touch technology. With touch now becoming the standard user interface in gaming applications, Elo anticipates that multi-touch will become ubiquitous in the leisure sector. The company has already developed a working multi-touch technology and is close to launching new products for 2009. Multi-touch is likely to find many applications in the gaming sector as developers look to produce novel and ever more exciting user interaction.
The Elo 1900L and 2200L high resolution LCD touchmonitors were also shown. These are the first zero-bezel wide-aspect ratio touchmonitors with a 100% useable surface area, offering a radically different look and feel for touchscreen technology.
Elo also showed its latest all-in-one touchcomputer family for casino management, sports betting and bingo applications among many others.
