The merger between pool table manufacturers Excel Leisure and Simply Pool announced shortly before Intergame's IGX Show in London produced a warm welcome from visitors who came to the show in numbers that left Stan Mckenna and his colleague, Bob Underhill, pleasantly surprised.
McKenna told Euroslot: "All the key operators attended the show and all of them were serious buyers. The timing of it could not have been better for our merger because we were able to explain the reasons for it to our customers and show them some of the extended range of our products."
A highlight of the show was the Excel-Simply Pool table, which headed a number of products from each of the manufacturers who now trade under the name of Simply Pool Limited. Other tables and accessories from each of the two merging companies were also on display.
McKenna praised the show as one that produced a nice, relaxed feeling. The extension of hours until 7pm gave every opportunity to meet and talk to both new and old customers. He also praised the ease of access and egress to and from the Ibis Hotel.
Plenty of Irish visitors were present as was the French distributor, Vincent Noel, of SLF. McKenna said a number of sales were made at the show but the newly formed company directors will travel more in the future to boost the export trade for its products. "We feel we must meet customers in their own territory," said McKenna, who was joined on the stand by Bob Underhill and Dave Tippman.
