Yvonne Stott, seen here with Alan Genders from operator Winning Touch, made history last month by becoming the first ever female National PGA Golf Tournament winner. She pipped secondplace winner Matt Hooper by use of her Great Shot Points (GSP) average.
Stott had not been seen on any National PGA Tournament leader boards before, so she really caught everybody unawares. “It’s great to see new players constantly emerging,” said Jonathan Mays of PGA Golf distributor Cosmic Video Amusements. “It keeps the game’s competitive edge fresh and alive. The fact that she’s a woman compounds our opinion that these golf machines have a wider appeal as an entertainment centre than some operators would suspect.
“She beat two players who represented the UK in last year’s World Championships in Las Vegas, so who know what the future may hold,” he added.
