According to figures announced on September 22 by Gaungzhou Customs’ General Affairs of Statistics Division, the number of electronic gaming commodities exported from January to August - including household consoles and commercial products - was 452,202.

This represents a decline of 4.4 per cent compared with the same quarter in 2005. Overall turnover amounted to US$5,200,000, a distinct drop of 66.3 per cent from last year. At the same time, Gaungzhou Customs also gave an import/export briefing relating to the same period. This revealed the number of gaming commodities to be 1,315,243 - an 86.2 decline from the same quarter in 2005. Total exports amounted to US$12,040,000, up by 20 per cent from the same quarter in 2005.
