Funworld has developed a management system that will work on all types of machines. This system, called Operation Network, is based on the comprehensive know-how Funworld has developed with its own Fun.service management system, which it developed for its Photo Play terminals.
“We listened carefully to the comments made by our clients and have been able to develop a standardised system that can communicate with all types of machine,” said Funworld’s sales and marketing officer Marco Huter. “The uniqueness of our system is that, compared to other manufacturers, we are able to integrate mechanical machines such as billiards, or soccer tables, as well as intelligent slot-gaming and vending machines.”
Operation Network uses a small communications device that is fitted into every machine in the operation. These devices transmit to one data-recording unit per location known as the master node using radio communication. The devices are small radio transmitters that understand standardised protocols such as ccTalk, VDAI and Bacta. There is plenty of room for extension of the communication network.
The central node compresses the data collected from the communications device and sends this to a central server via broadband, modem or GPRS. A central database system, either one defined by the clients themselves or the server provided by Funworld, can be used for the reception of data.
Special attention was taken to ensure the safety of the data during transfer. Funworld has used the most modern encryption technology to avoid manipulation of the system or access by unauthorised persons.
The Operation Network administration program is intuitive and easy to use. It is therefore convenient for clients who have not used similar products before.
The reporting system shows data concerning equipment and cashbox, while the location, terminal and safety settings can be administrated by the data-entry function.
“Operation Network can not only send, but of course can also receive data,” commented Huter. “Therefore, Funworld is in a position to offer mobile payment for all terminals linked to the system. In addition, Operation Network provides the option of running the program on established hand-helds, thus making a client’s location independent during system administration.”
