Paul Brown of MEI leapt from 13,000ft in a tandem sky-dive with the Red Devils last month, in order to raise money for the British Institute for Brain-Injured Children (Bibic).
Brown (pictured) has raised almost £1,500 in sponsorship from the jump, which took place at the Duke of Gloucester barracks in Cirencester. And despite suffering from vertigo, he managed to freefall for 45 seconds, spending a total of five minutes in the air.
“My daughter Lauren, aged 12, was badly hurt in a car accident in September, just two days after starting school,” said Brown. “It was very traumatic
she was in intensive care and lapsed into a coma for about a week. She is now on the path to recovery but Bibic helped us through a difficult time and were fantastic. I wanted to give something back.”
Bibic relies entirely on donations to provide a wide range of care and support to families of children with neurological and genetic conditions. In order to pledge support, contact Louisa Trunks on 07854 371055 or louisa.trunks@bibic.org.uk.
