Whitehouse Leisure has already raised almost £10,000 for BACTA’s official charity, the British Industry of Brain-Injured Children (BIBIC) through the sale of its Rainbow licensed plush characters.
Whitehouse offered to donate to BIBIC a total of 25p from the sale of each of its 11” gift-quality Rainbow characters, Bungle, Zippy and George, and then match the money raised in each period. The first donation is for the period from January to May.
“This is just the first instalment from Whitehouse and it has paid for three children and their families to benefit from a whole year’s help and support from BIBIC,” said Louisa Trunks from the charity.
“I am confident that we will be able to help at least another three children, if not more,” she continued. “Whitehouse Leisure has been a pleasure to work with. They have been friendly, professional and above all exceptionally generous and supportive. A huge thanks goes to them for all their hard work so far.”
“I have been really impressed with the work carried out by BIBIC in helping these special children and their families,” said Phil Setter, Managing Director of Whitehouse Leisure. “Our business is all about family entertainment and bringing happiness to children, so it makes sense for us to try to raise badly needed funds by the sale of these toys. At the beginning of the year, Rainbow was voted the most popular children’s TV show of all time, and it came back on television, which has helped sales.”
