The purpose of the visit was to show two big users of SAM tables the manufacturing process and just how SAM build quality is achieved and maintained.

SAM is Europe’s largest manufacturer of pool and air hockey tables. The company has two sites near Vitoria in the Basque region of Northern Spain. The metal fabrication and coating plant also holds the air hockey production line. This was of particular interest to the visitors. Leisure Link supplied SAM Fast Soccer Double Hockeys to a number of Hollywood Bowl sites over summer. The initial batch returned exceptional revenue figures and the Fast Soccer will now be rolled out across the estate.

The pool table assembly, showroom and main offices are in a separate facility, where the family-run business controls distribution to over 100 countries and welcomes valued customers. “We have brought customers to see the factory many times over the years. None have returned home without greatly improved understanding of and respect for SAM products,” said Gary Drage, Managing Director of SAM Leisure in the UK. “This is a highly professional company competing highly successfully on the world stage. UK customers can now appreciate our passion for our tables.”

“This has been a great opportunity to bring together several links in the supply chain, manufacturer, distributor, machine operator and ultimately the venue operator. We have all learnt from the experience and can have greater confidence in each other as a result,” he added.
