When the Lenton Centre – a UK community project - appealed to the Nottinghamshire Business In the Community scheme for help in renovating their swimming pool, there was only one company for the job.
Not only is Bell-Fruit Games situated firmly within the Lenton area – previous projects have included refurbishment at the local primary school – but it also employs the Lenton pool’s biggest fan – BFG machine tester Gary Edis. He finally conquered his battle against a lifelong fear of water when he learnt to swim at the pool just six years ago. Threatened with closure, it was bought for the sum of £10 by the Lenton Centre, who now rely on the generosity and goodwill of companies like Bell-Fruit Games to keep the project going. Thanks to their help, the facility has been cleaned, painted and repaired, in time for a scheduled re-opening early in 2007.
