DT Productions and Sound Leisure will unveil the first dedicated digital jukebox service for France at this year’s ATEI – stand 2330. The French jukebox is a result of months of complicated negotiations with the major record labels in France, as well as a landmark copyright deal with the French collections agency, La Société Civile des Producteurs Phonographiques (SCCP).
The French jukebox, manufactured by Sound Leisure, will offer the Premium service, containing up to 5,000 songs fully profiled to individual site specifications and an extra 50 or more updates will be added every month. The service will also be available with video not only making this the first audio jukebox in France but also the first audio/video licence in Europe. “This offer combines Sound Leisure technology and reliability with the first legal service for France fully copyrighted by the SCCP,” said Simon Davis, Managing Director, DT Productions. “This is specifically designed to the needs of a French customer. Everything front and back end is in French and all the content is supplied to special French requirements, such as an extra large African music section. Never before has so much time and investment been dedicated to creating a jukebox for France. In light of recent tax breaks for bar owners to site this type of machine, we have great hopes for the future,” he added.
