All linked Photo Play terminals will feature the new free net.game, Express, on from March 5 onwards. ‘Express’ is a variant of the popular Photo Play game, Fun Towers, which is a player favourite, especially in the MASTERS tournaments. Express’ suitability for tournaments will be known from March 12 onwards, which marks the beginning of the Photo Play Fun Cup.
Fun Cup is an international tournament in which Photo Players from all nations linked to the Photo Play net play against each other in a league system. Winners, whose achievements will officially be rewarded with cups and certificates, will be announced on April 1, 2007. “The challenge we face when developing games is to continuously supply the market with new games or attractive variants of favourite games that encourage top performance”, said Marco Huter, Funworld’s CSO. “Express received extremely good marks during first player tests. The sound concept and the quick pace demanded of players when piling up cards, are just what our players want. “With our free net.games we continue to bring variety and additional income to our terminals”, he added. “From the System 2007 software solution on, players can find a consolidation of topical net.games, all tournament games and special promotions such as Happy-Hour games when pressing the Hot Games button. Posters at the operating location too inform players that there is always something new on their Photo Play. Also of interest are the cards used in the game themselves. The cards’ design comes from Piatnik, Europe’s largest manufacturer of playing cards. Thus the themes are well-known and accordingly popular.” The Viennese playing card manufacturer has been producing cards since 180 years. The plant has an output of around 25 million sets of cards annually. Photo Play has licensed three of the well-known themes for its card games. Classic Bridge cards are used for almost all Photo Play card games, the nationally specific German ‘Skat’ game is played using the original Piatnik ‘Skat’ deck and the double-headed German cards are used for Photo Play’s special Austrian game called ‘Schnapsen’.
