FAOCAM - the Catalan Federation of Associations of Amusement Machine and Gaming Arcade Operators, which brings together the Acomar, Europer, Grecojoc and Acordjoc associations, has urged the Catalonian Autonomous Government to evaluate the effect of granting of concessions to operate the new games known as “Binjocs”.
Access to this type of game is through a terminal that allows a single person to participate in a game which, similar to a draw and with clear references to bingo, offers 25 squares each with a number in the range 1 to 75 and in each draw thirty numbers are selected. Also, each player can purchase up to twenty tickets for the same draw. The price of a ticket is 0.20 euros and installation of these terminals has already begun in bingo halls and gaming arcades across Catalonia. “Binjocs”, whose organization and marketing falls to the Eaja (the Catalonian Government), has as its technological partner Cirsa Interactive. For those organizations belonging to FAOCAM “Binjocs” means the introduction of new gaming machines under the classification of lottery which are in fact “B” type amusement machines based on the game of bingo, offering more numerous prizes, with no limit on the number of machines and not having to pay the fiscal gaming rate, all of which represents unfair competition for the traditional “B” type amusement machines installed in the bars and amusement arcades.
