Merkur sun lights up Rimini show
Published:  11 May, 2007

According to Axel F. Pawlas, CSO Merkur Gaming, the 19th Enada Spring in Rimini last month was a big success all down the line for Merkur Gaming. In addition to the unique Merkur Gaming product innovations the extension of the current gaming regulation “Comma 6“ for installing AWP machines until 15 September 2007 contributed decisively to this success.

Therefore, the demand for the current Merkur Gaming machines was extremely high. But also the new gaming systems that comply with the new regulation “Comma 6a“ were much sought-after. This is not only fact for the well-established AWP machines ‘Lucky Cash’ and ‘Sphinx Gold’ but also for the new machines ‘Lucky Cash Diamante’ and ‘Sphinx Diamante’ with state-of-the-art LED or multicolour technology. Alberto Stolfi from Merkur Gaming Partner International Games Trade (IGT), San Marino, was therefore also more than happy with the trade show: “The deep interest of our customers confirmed once again that the Gauselmann gaming machines are unique – state of the art reel-based gaming systems with cutting-edge technology!“ he said. At the stand of the partner So.Ge.Ma. visitors were also fascinated by ‘Joe in the Jungle’, the first video-based gaming system from Merkur Gaming for the Italian market. Here, Merkur Gaming also presented the ‘Merkur Roulette’, a sophisticated roulette system for five to eight players in elegant mahogany design. Andre Wessling from So.Ge.Ma. was enthusiastic: “Merkur Roulette offers high comfort to players and operators alike,“ he said. At the trade show presentation of the sister company Merkur Win, Merkur Gaming exhibited the latest betting-terminal “made by Gauselmann“ – ‘Merkur Best Bet Evolution’ with 19“ TFT monitor and touch function. The betting-terminal not only features a slim metal cabinet but above all elaborate technology to enhance safety. The ‘Merkur Best Bet Evolution’ comes with separate doors for cashbox, electronics compartment, and hardware. Together with the “Merkur Dispenser 100“-ability it is the optimum solution for the Italian betting market. The ‘Merkur Dispenser 100’ is an exciting product innovation by Gauselmann. The possibility to pay out even high wins without additional personnel is a big advantage. The dispenser boasts an unrivalled capacity of 100 banknotes (up to three different denominations) and at the same time a very compact design. The two first in-house developed Disney Kiddie Rides by Merkur Gaming, ‘Princess Dream’ und ‘Lightning – McQueen’, were the highlights at the stand of the partner Smile. The visitors loved above all ‘Princess Dream’ seating one to two children. The two systems were realized with much love to detail and are based on the usual reliable adp technology. The popular simulators for the computer kids generation combining game, fun, and skill were as always the centre of attention. Under the umbrella of Merkur International, Merkur Gaming is responsible for the Europe-wide sales of the internationally active Gauselmann Group. The business volume totaled EUR 1.33 billion (2005: EUR 1.003 billion) with aggregated consolidated revenues of the three business units rising over EUR 1 billion. At the end of the fiscal year 2006 the company employed 5,518 people worldwide and has sold approximately two million gaming products around the globe since its establishment. More than 500 game developers worldwide work on gaming designs, mathematics, graphics, and quality management and thus underline the innovative capabilities and the competence of the Gauselmann Group.
