The new regulation on arcades, which has the approval of the representatives from the companies in the sector, has been approved by the Consell Valencia, after receiving a favourable report from the Consell Jurídic Consultiu, and also the approval of the Autonomous Commission on Gaming.
According to what we have been told by the heads of the Valencian Government, with this new regulation, comes the completion of the updating of the laws regulating gaming, following the approval of the new regulations for bingo halls, casinos and amusement machines and machines for playing games of chance. Among other legislative technical improvements, the new regulation introduces the possibility of interconnecting machines of type B installed in two or more arcades, so that the group of arcades comprising each of the interconnected systems awards special prizes, providing it is linked to the premises of an admission control department. The purpose of controlling admissions is to prevent access to those people who are prohibited from entering the interconnected machine areas, as well as those under 18 years of age. Another of the new features introduced by the regulation is the possibility of operating machines of type A - amusements without prizes - in the arcades, and of running betting and ticket-based games under the conditions and requirements that are determined by the regulations.
