Astro Corp., which mainly develops and manufactures gambling machines, has announced the acquisition of the exclusive distributorship in Taiwan of Sega’s latest game machine “Initial D - IIII”.
Initial D is a game devised from famous Japanese car-racing comics, and is very popular both in Japan and Taiwan. At present the Taiwanese game market is being restricted by the game law, but there are still 4,000 game locations with legal licences in operation. The spokesman of Astro – Sean Chang stated that in the future, the company would order a whole batch of the machines and operate them in three ways – resell to other distributors, resell to the stores and profit share. In order to focus on the distribution of Initial D – IIII, Astro established a brand new team taking charge of this new business and also applied to the government for operating permission; the machine is set to be launched
