Global VR has announced the Need for Speed Carbon Upgrade Kit will be available to customers throughout the world mid-June 2008. This exciting new driver will transform all previous versions of Need for Speed games into Global VR’s latest offering in the successful franchise.
Picking up where Need for Speed Underground left off, Carbon engages players in the graphically stunning world of urban street and drift racing, all with varying degrees of difficulty. Players will be able to select their cars from the many models and types available in the game including Tuners, American Muscle, and Exotics. Each car is customizable making every driving experience unique. Players will also be able to build a personal career where mastering all car types means earning “specialty cars” and the ability to add up to 40 additional cars that can be used in any game mode and stored in a “personal garage”. “At GlobalL VR we strive to fulfil our commitment of providing value and quality to our customers by delivering a steady stream of upgrade kits for our games.
Each new game installment is an A+ title that combines the successful elements of the previous version while incorporating new and exciting features,” stated Jim DeRose, Global VR President and CEO. He went on to comment, “In these challenging financial times, we are pleased to offer distributors and operators who own Need for Speed games an opportunity to upgrade graphics and software in locations, and enjoy increased revenue without having to invest in new game cabinets.” The first Need for Speed game was originally released in October 2003.
Since that time, two upgrades have been released, Need for Speed GT and Need for Speed Underground, each of which still enjoys success around the globe.
