Konami Digital Entertainment B.V. has announced that it moved last month to new premises in west London.
The move comes as a continuation of Konami’s 10-year strategy, which has seen the company being changed to a regional corporate structure with offices in Japan, Asia, America and Europe that are responsible for their own product planning, production and sales. This, in essence, means that the company can now target the markets aggressively and produce suitable product contents, as well as handling the sales of hit products from other regions.
The other main structural change in the company is the merger of some of the divisions to give three new principal businesses: digital entertainment, health and fitness, and gaming and systems.
Within the digital entertainment business, the amusement, consumer software, online products and services, mobile applications, and toy and hobby divisions have all merged. The synergies between these divisions run deep and have never been truly taken advantage of before.
James Anderson, product planning manager, commented, “In the coming months, the true benefits of this merger will come to the marketplace with some truly exciting and groundbreaking products.
“The synergies between the divisions will only go to help strengthen these products in the market. The merger of the staff into the same office will give us access to vast amounts of player information that has been gathered over the years by each division and is now being pooled into one resource, meaning we are able to actively target the players from their homes and draw them to the sites.”
