GTI Asia Hong Kong Expo 2008 that was scheduled to take place on September 25-27 was cancelled due to the problems that occurred in the overall planning and the venue. The show was originally aimed at the Chinese market; however, the Chinese government has implemented a strict policy towards the game industry in recent times owing to the Beijing Olympics as well as other reasons.
The global economic depression also made it very difficult to recruit exhibitors for the show; GTI Asia Hong Kong Expo 2008 was therefore called off as its goals could not be reached. As for the GTI Asia Taipei Expo 2009, which is set to be held on May 7-9 at B & C Zones, Hall 1 of the Taipei World Trade Center; next year the show is going to be even larger than the last. The registration for exhibiting at the show is now open; for those who are interested please contact - Tel: +886-2-2760-7407 ext. 207; Fax: +886-2-2762-3873; e-mail: gametime@taiwanslot.com.tw; website: http://www.gtiexpo.com.tw/
