Sound Leisure made a special delivery last month - of a Melody Jukebox with iPod to Colm Taylor of CLMS in the UK.
Colm made the extremely generous winning bid of £4000 for the jukebox at the BACTA Midlands Charity Auction, which was held in April at the Marriott Forest of Arden Hotel and Country Club in Warwickshire. The event attracted 200 people and raised a total of £12,000.
Colin Vernon, manager of the Sound Leisure Classic Division, installed the machine for Colm. He said, "Sound Leisure supports many charities but this donation to the BACTA Charitable Trust was particularly well received. Everyone here was overwhelmed at the generosity Colm displayed with his winning bid."
Colm Taylor said, "The service and personal attention I received from Sound Leisure was exceptional, and that even my wife Susan has been won over and is beginning to love the box. And the fact that the cash raised was for charity, just enhances the pleasure. With its retro styling, superb sound quality, iPod docking station, remote and random play facilities, I am delighted with the jukebox."
Peter Davies, BACTA Midlands outgoing regional Chairman added, "I would like to pay particular tribute to the generosity and support of Sound Leisure. Chris Black and his team pulled out all the stops for us by donating a fabulous jukebox and supported us further with marketing materials and posters to help publicise the auction."
