Aristocrat Technologies Africa is set to build a Systems Research & Development Centre to support African and European market requirements in the next few months.
"This is a very exciting time for us," commented Systems Director, Devon Dalbock. "Whilst we have been working closely with Sydney R&D in the past, the market requirements for this region are somewhat different to that of Asia Pacific. I believe that local R&D will certainly make us more agile in responding to market requirements, and ultimately this must translate to a competitive advantage."
Since approval was granted in June 2008, the South African office has been actively recruiting for a Research & Development Manager, as well as various other developer roles. The transition plan, which was jointly produced between Sydney R&D and RSA will see the key people, once recruited, spend a period of two to three months in Australia, working side by side with the Sydney R&D team to ensure a successful skills transfer.
"The Systems team in South Africa is extremely positive about this and understands the long term benefit this brings, not only to Aristocrat, but also to our customers," added Dalbock. "Response from our key customers has also been very positive."
