In a joint announcement Ansell said he was looking forward to working with Excel Leisure in getting the new tables on their markets. Excel Leisure's Stan Mckenna said his company would be producing the tables for the United Kingdom and European markets. Lordsvale are also holding discussions with a view to producing the tables in the USA.

Excel Leisure will provide the tables with high quality graphics covered by strong laminates for long life.  Both McKenna and Ansell  believe they will be ideal for Elvis fans in themed locations. A range of Elvis Presley accessories including cues and cloths will also be produced.

 McKenna said: "We have worked closely with Mike Ansell on this project and we are excited by the prospects for the project during the coming year."

Those dedicated Elvis fans whom we see from time to time dressed like their idol as they visit special conventions held in his honour will no doubt love the new pool table and treat it with tender and true care. Whether its success might lead to further themed tables for other international idols I cannot say. But a "Bend it like Beckham" pool table could be ruinous to those whose play depends on snookering their opponents.
