On 1 October, Bally Wulff Entertainment celebrated the 10th anniversary of Managing Director Tim Wittenbecher. He was honoured with flowers, a certificate and a golden pin.
Sascha Blodau, one of Bally Wulff Entertainment's three Managing Directors said, "I am very happy to share the management with a colleague who, just like myself, was recruited from our own ranks. Especially after the previous managers' short terms of office it is a real bonus that Tim Wittenbecher does not only have a thorough knowledege of the gaming industry but also of Bally Wulff, due to his many years of experience."
Wittenbecher's career started when he became employed by Hans Kloß, Bally Wulff's CEO at the time, who assigned him with the task to gain a foothold on international markets for the first time.
Wittenbecher got down to it - and he was successful: Norway was the first market that was supplied with several types of machines for the country's Red Cross. This export business was stopped by a change in legislation; however, it was replaced by a profitable development of casino-style machines for the Dutch market.
This was followed by the development and export of gaming machines to Italy, and the supply of the Hungarian market with conversion kits from the end of the 90s until after the turn of the millenium.
After withdrawing from the Italian market on account of a too soft legislation, Wittenbecher established the Bally Wulff brand on the Spanish market from 2001. With the introduction of 2-3 machines per year - such as the successful Lejano Oeste video game, which combined video sequences with the classic reel game for the first time - Wittenbecher increased the export share of the company's total sales and has kept it in a stable two-digit range since then.
