The Korean Ministry of Culture and Tourism has recently established the Relevant Implementation Order and Implementation Rules for the Game Industry Promotion law.
The provisions of the Game Facilities Standards have also been partially revised. In the past, games whose one-hour prize limit exceeded KW200,000 were regarded as speculative games. Now, the standards have changed and games whose one-hour prize quota exceeds KW100,000 are considered speculative games. Meanwhile, those games that exceed KW45,000 in the total hourly amount inserted, those whose one-time play lasts less than four seconds, or games whose prize quota for one-time play exceeds KW20,000 continue to be regarded as speculative games, in accordance with the existing provisions.
