Merkur Gaming has proudly announced the signing of a licensing contract with the Walt Disney company in Hammersmith, London.
“From a strategic point of view,” said Rolf Klug, Director of Merkur and Spielothek International, “we have taken a great stride forwards.” This licence includes the development, production and marketing of Disney Kiddie Rides for the whole of Europe, the Middle East and other selected countries, according to the Espelkamp company. Merkur Gaming has already held a manufacturer’s licence and marketing rights relating to Germany for some time for these amusement machines. For example, the Donald Boat, Mickey Golf Car and Tigger & Winnie the Pooh Carousel have been very popular. With the new licence contract, the Gauselmann subsidiary is in a position to develop new Disney Kiddie Rides. Thus it is now possible to react much more flexibly to the varying requirements of different markets and to work with new, more up-to-date themes from the colourful world of Walt Disney. “This increases our marketing opportunities, as we can now also participate in the effects of the – usually extremely comprehensive – promotion campaigns conceived and implemented by Walt Disney around its products,” said Ullrich Künnecke, manager of this marketing sector. According to Merkur Gaming, preliminary preparations for new products are already taking place. All of those involved are confident that the first “own developments” will come onto the market within months.
Meanwhile, in the district capital city of Most in northern Bohemia – population 68,000 – Merkur Casino is opening its first branch in a modern shopping centre typical of the region, thereby enabling the 17th Merkur sun to shine within the Czech Republic, according to the Espelkamp firm. With an area of approximately 300 square metres, the new Merkur Casino in Most offers its customers pure state-of-the-art entertainment. The product range extends from classic casino machines, via electronic roulette up to a modern food and beverage zone, says the company. The new Merkur Casino employs a total of seven staff daily, from 7am to 9pm.
