This year's Amex exhibition in Dublin was overshadowed by the extremely sad news of the demise of Martin Dempsey - the warm-hearted organizer and publisher of Coin-op News. Despite this, the team behind the show and the magazine pulled together and managed to deliver a successful show.

The exhibitors showed the following new products:

  • Kimble Gaming launched two new products at AmEx 09 and announced their disbributorship for European slot manufacturer EGT. They also showed equipment from Merkur Gaming and their own new smart jackpot which can link different machines together on the one mystery jackpot
  • Crown exhibited the Cuba Watch Crane, Quibica AMF Pin Bowl, Monopoly Multigame, Barcrest Star Wars, Harry Levy Pieces Of Eight, Global VR Need For Speed, a kiddie ride and Elaut Baby Claw crane.
  • Q Leisure demonstrated the new Apollo jukebox which can run on 3G or broadband. It comes with the You Tube feature which is proving very popular. They also showed the NSM ICon digital jukebox which can be updated either online or offline. Both jukeboxes can also show videos and come with 40,000 standard tracks off line and up to 100,000 online. Also included in the line-up was the TAB Fun4Four.
  • Elaut exhibited KATE with new platform and software for management and cashiers along with new software for their casino wheels and their new multigame feature which is available on their casino wheels which allows players play several games in different places.
  • Laser Electronics showed their new IGS cabinet with four games link system. Wild Wild West, Seasons Greetings, Lord Of Pirates and The Magician can be linked at present. They also showed their new rebuild cabinet Infinity as well as Red Hot Poker with extra bonus feature and new graphics.
  • Brent Sales had the latest product line from the Time Crisis team Razing Storm video shooting game. They also showed Barbercut, a single or two player prize win machine and Dr Who photo booth.
  • Amusement Sales & Service had a busy show with Virtual Casino, a new kiosk cabinet with five games, Casino Fun touchscreen with five games and Poker Deluxe.
  • Donegal Leisure brought their new game Treasure Island to the show. It comes with the latest link jackpot system and is based on the Treasure Island video slot. It has four jackpots running simultaneously.
  • Vegas travelled from Poland and exhibited Silver Shark. It offers an easy upgrade for both operators and engineers. They also showed Hot Slot and Black Horse and all software is done in-house.
  • Noraut offered Noraut Poker and Noraut Gold with progressive links. They are re-introducing Singing Poker from the 1980s which has tested well. Also on their stand was Big Tony;s Pokerkard cash system paying out remotely with card.
  • Olympic Sales exhibited new games including Retro Reels, Time Quest, Olympian and Olympic Flames as well as Olympic Gold 2, New Olympic Free Spins, Olympic Joker and Olympic Gold.
  • Tobyco showed their latest games Skill Pong, Maxx Grab traditional crane and Whirlpool, a rotor based game with new set up and specially designed weighted disks for prizes and cash.
  • Genesis displayed their range of MGT Twin Screen Multigame Terminals as well as Book Of Fortune, Games Bond, Odyssey and the new X3000 multiliners.
  • SB Machines had two new products for the Irish market - VDW Big 7, a skill based prize vendor and Miami Kiddie Ride with new movement, high upmarket LED and enhanced safety features.
  • GMS offered Russian Roulette from Electrocoin which comes with a JCM validator, the JPM Tornado range of games with a new game called Golden Cherry for the Irish market, the Ainsworth range of multigames, Purple Moon progressive and Dragon Power.
  • Almotech showed Eclipse jukebox and Mini Maestro jukebox, which is a new model launched for 2009. They have started a new distribution company called Coinplay and distribute games from Games Warehouse, Merit, TAB and Almotech. Coinplay showed the revamped Paragon TT and Infiniti AWP multigame from Games Warehouse, Golden Island from TAB which is a strato steel multigame gambling machine and Merit Megatouch RX.
  • Cosmic Video Amusements exhibited Global VR - Need For Speed Carbon, LAI Games Textminator redemption, Heads Up Challenge poker of which there are over 500 machines on the market in 14 different countries and Shoot This Win This prize with redemption tickets.
  • Sound Leisure / Automatic Amusements had a range of wall mounted jukeboxes which included Music On Line, Digi Tracks, new "Jukebox" 4 channel amplifier and digital Nostalgia audio / video with running screens.
  • Hannibal Purcell & Associates are a leading consultancy firm providing independent professional services to casinos, bookmakers, bingo clubs and gaming centres, specialising in digital gaming and gaming operations in Ireland, UK and the USA.
  • Scan Coin had their latest note sorter SCK-500 which is a versatile and cost effective way of sorting and counting Euro notes and is a compact five pocket sorter with a maximum capacity of 100 notes for each pocket. They also offered Cassomat CK, a self service cash out and payout machine which can also dispense magnetic or smart cards.
  • Superleague demonstrated the Maxfire Jukebox from TAB Austria which offers music as download for mobile phones, MP3 players or USB sticks using the new feature "Music To Go". Over 4 million songs and videos can be currently downloaded via this feature.
  • Electrocoin showed Guitar Hero Arcade, Power Putt in video version, X-Putt SWP, Russian Roulette for the Irish market and CSI Pintable from Stern Pinball.
  • Hazel Electronics had their range of new money saving, low energy LED products which save companies money on the lighting bills. They also demonstrated Site Manager of which there are over 1000 in Ireland.
  • JC Gaming exhibited a range of gaming machines including Emperor, Legend Of Kung Fu and Hero Of Justice which come with a new jackpot Mythical Fortune Jackpot. They also showed Mystery Jackpot, The Magician, Lord Of Pirates and Conqueror. All games are assembled in Ireland. They also displayed their new Galaxy Gold overhead banner which is designed in Ireland.
  • Towergate Risk Solutions are a specialised leisure and amusement insurance supplier and they supply policies tailored to individual needs at competitive prices.
  • Atari Expo / Paytec showed their Loyalty System which does not require wiring back to a central computer and is based on the vending cashless system. A card can be sent to a customer to invite them back to your club and you can preprogramme it with different benefits - credits, discounts etc. The card can be moved around to different games.
  • Innovative Technology's NV200, a high end validator, has taken the market by storm. It is a high volume, high security validator and is proving to be a winner for them. They also offered BV20, BV50 and BV100 bill validators.
  • The Novelty Toy Company had a variety of licensed stickers and tattoos including Disney Winnie The Pooh, High School Musical and The Simpsons. These were accompanied by a range of quality plush, capsule vendors, footballs, basketballs and the Disney range of key chains.
  • FX Simulation attended AmEx with a range of posters showing their simulators which included ride experiences. They were also offering refurbished simulators at close-out prices
  • Sam Leisure, a regular exhibitor at AmEx, offered their new England Pool Table as well as air hockey tables, cues and pool and snooker accessories.
  • Sega Amusements Europe had a range of shooting and driving games on show including Sega Rambo and Sega R-Tuned as well as redemption MissFits and plush and electronic merchandising.
  • Wexford Amusements showed games new to Ireland including Marksman, a shooting target game with nine prize departments; three cranes including Football Crane; interactive kiddie drivers which are both fun and educational and Magic Cup, Find The Coin game.
  • Game Concepts exhibited their coin pushers Galaxy 21 and Deep Sea Treasures and Rock And Roll Legend, a new flippa game. Their spares catalogue was also offered and this is also available online.
  • The United Distributing Company brought a range of novelty and redemption games to AmEx including Unis Cyber Coin and Pharaoh's Treasure and Roll To Win, Time 2 Win and Red Hot.
  • Intergames supply and support the gaming industry with the most important equipment and accessories required by the operators in Eastern European countries. They work closely with manufacturers such as Aristocrat, WMS, IGT and Unidesa to ensure quality and value for money.
  • Turbo Leisure showed their own manufactured Roulette Royale touchscreen with 3D graphics and random roll speed. It is a fully random game with repeat bet. It comes in a slimline chrome cabinet with 19in vandal proof screen.
  • CGQ is the official distributor for Supreme World Championship Pool Tables. They also stock trollies, lights, parts and snooker tables nationwide.
  • Infinitygames displayed their Infinity Texas Hold ‘Em live table cabinet with ten stations. It offers comfort and enticement for players and comes with 19 inch screens.
  • Future Gaming offer accounting systems for slot machines which includes a player tracker option to help track players and monitor their activities; Cage Manager which monitors payouts; Jackpot Systems and Bonusing Systems.
  • Playtrix / Game Tek offered the Game Master Multigame which includes Roulette, Hi Lo Poker, Joker Poker, Black Jack and Classic Poker'; Multibox multigame system, MultiGaminator and Black Jack. Game Tek represents Playtrix, Rabbit, Astro and MMX on the market.
  • Cash Automation exhibited a selection of coin sorter and counter products from Cummins Allison, Scott Tod, Cashmaster, CT Coin and JCM.
  • ECM Systems were first time exhibitors at AmEx 09 and they showed hand held bingo terminals and portable bingo equipment.
  • ITM offered a selection of licensed Disney products including Winnie The Pooh, Bolt and Cars plus a new range of Mickey and Minnie High School Musical which is unique to ITM.
  • Leisure Electronics demonstrated PhD, the future of bingo and gaming. This is completely wireless and portable and allows you to play Bingo, Fruit Machines and Roulette. It has a fourteen hour battery life and vibrant 10 inch colour screens.
