Barcrest has launched its latest cabinet, ‘Horizon Plus', which it believes has the potential to reshape the reel-based gaming market.
Horizon Plus provides customers with a whole host of new benefits, while retaining the functionality that made the original Horizon cabinet so robust and reliable.
The introduction of MPU6 technology has brought added features to Horizon Plus. Security has been strengthened by the provision of industry standard CC Talk with enhancements and full iButton functionality, which also makes for easier operation. MPU6 supports existing user peripherals - coin mechanism, note acceptor and hopper - providing a seamless transition from MPU5 - as well as newly-introduced peripherals such as the SCH-3 from Money Controls.
However, the biggest benefit deriving from Horizon Plus is its patented modular design and USB technology for quick and easy game updates. The Horizon Plus cabinet can remain on site while the game and frame are changed in a quick and straightforward process. This approach allows logistics to be streamlined, capitalises on the investment made in the cabinet and makes it much easier to offer players the latest titles and respond to demand for new games.
The introduction of Horizon Plus will commence with the release of Alien from Barcrest Games, a themed game based on the cult sci-fi thriller and making maximum use of the instantly recognisable Alien graphics, Alien is also fully upgradable for the new £1/£70 stake and prize once this becomes a reality.
