Praesepe plc, the low stake high volume gaming group headed by former BACTA President Nick Harding, has continued the roll-out of its Cashino brand with the opening of a Greenfield site in Birmingham's inner city district of Smallheath. The opening of the 1,200 square feet (112sq.m) venue increases the number of Cashino branded Adult Gaming Centres (AGCs) to 33.
Jonathon Hughes, who is in charge of developing Praesepe's AGC business, believes that the timing of the Smallheath opening is important. He explained: "We are preparing for a mid-June go live date on £70 jackpots, which we believe will be the engine of the AGC sector. The ensuing seven weeks will enable our team at Smallheath to engage with the local community and place Cashino firmly on the radar of players in this part of Birmingham."
The first week of trading in Smallheath has, according to Jonathon Hughes, been brisk: "We have raised the bar in terms of the level of customer service we provide, the quality of machines on site and the impact of the overall entertainment experience, all of which are hallmarks of the Cashino brand. The first week's trading is indicative of what will be a strong-performing site."
The Cashino brand was launched following the July 2008 acquisition of venues from H.J.M Caterers and E and J Hall Investments for £25m. The Praesepe vision is to create through acquisition a leading UK/EU low stake high volume gaming group with earnings of £50m within two years.
