The founder of banknote validator manufacturer Innovative Technology was recognised for his dedication to Oldham and received the prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award at a gala ceremony held Friday 3rd April.

 David, a well-known figure in the gaming world, has created two successful businesses in Oldham during his career: Money Controls back in the 1960s and Innovative Technology in 1992. A proud supporter of Oldham business David has helped a number of small start-up businesses in the Borough and sponsored the Pride in Oldham awards for a number of years.

 David, founded Innovative Technology with the invention of the NV1® Smiley Banknote Validator (so named because of it's design). Having turned 70 last year he shows no sign of retiring, still heavily involved in new product development. As the Chairman of Innovative Technology David will be in China later this month to officially open a new manufacturing plant - Bellis Technology Ltd (Shenzhen). 17 years on Innovative Technology is still based in Oldham but has dramatically expanded with seven locations worldwide.

 A modest man, David puts his success down to luck and being at the right place at the right time but everyone who knows him will agree he is truly deserving of the award.
