There's no business like show business, apparently. It has certainly been keeping folks busy in the UK coin-op industry of late. Clarion will continue to organise the ATEI next January at Earls Court with Emma Green as the new show director, we learned this month. But, in 2011, the show might just move to Olympia, down the road if that's what the amusement and gaming industry wants.
As for BACTA, the UK trade association has confirmed that it will also organise a trade show in January next year at the Excel exhibition centre. BACTA has joined forces with InterGame, organiser of this year's IGX Show at the Ibis, in order to facilitate this. Heading the BACTA show management company will be Karen Cooke, who used to work at Clarion and organise the ATEI and related shows. The two shows will overlap and unfortunately for those attending or exhibiting at the IMA in Germany - this show will move closer to the London exhibitions once more - and will resume its four-day schedule. All of which promises a frenetic January 2010 for visitors and exhibitors. We will continue to report on all the developments and run show previews and reviews on all the shows.
