The British Association of Pool Table Operators has decided to increase its services to members by updating the scope of its activities to offer them support in all matters relating to coin-operated equipment and not just to pool tables.
BAPTO Press Officer Liam Barrett told Euroslot it would have a "help desk" to advise on legal and operational matters. He said: "This wider scope reflects the changing face of the amusement industry and offers an independent forum for operators of all sizes in these challenging times."
He pointed out that BAPTO had campaigned successfully in the past to repeal the 19th century Act which prevented the playing of pool, billiards and snooker in certain premises on Sundays. It had also helped in the standardisation of pool tables and table/pocket ratios. The association continued to hold the UK's longest running "grass roots" pool tournament which will again be held in Blackpool during November.
He said that members wishing to know more about the increased services or operators wishing to join should contact Bob Blakeborough on 07967671212.
