This month we focus on coin-op tournaments. These have been running for around a decade and, in some sectors, have matured into a global phenomenon. But the pitfalls awaiting the unwary tournament organiser are manifold. We spoke to some of the more successful tournament operators about what they find most challenging about organising tournaments - what the legal implications are - and how they get their message across to the players.
Meanwhile, in the UK we have had a stakes and prizes review which has resulted in a doubled jackpot to £70. Operators have worked night and day to change over their machines to the new stakes and prizes. We spoke to Steve Hawkins at Essex Leisure to find out how he is coping with the changeover, he is well on his way to completing his target of 1000 machines in eight weeks.
Next month, Euroslot will appear in digital version only - but we will be back in print in September. Have a great summer!
