Cashino, the UK's fastest growing chain of Adult Gaming Centres (AGCs), celebrated its first birthday with a special cake cutting ceremony attended by the company's senior management team including CEO Nick Harding, AGC Managing Director Jonathon Hughes, Commercial Director Byron Evans and Finance Director Matthew Proctor. The photo shoot was held at the brand's flagship venue in Nuneaton, which was part of the first £25m acquisition completed by parent company Praesepe plc from HJM Caterers and E & J Hall Investments in summer 2008.
The symbolic event marked an eventful 12 months for Praesepe during which it has completed three acquisitions, grown the estate to 40 Cashino branded operating venues, maximised the opportunities offered by the long awaited £1/£70 uplift in stakes and prizes and become the first UK AGC brand to agree and implement successful revenue share agreements with games manufacturers.
Reflecting on the year, CEO Nick Harding said: "2008/09 has been an eventful period for the industry, for Praesepe and for Cashino. Taking the business forward we believe that as the market matures larger operators will be able to attract greater volumes of customers due to their ability to invest, develop player loyalty and promote a common brand across gaming platforms." He added: "Another important benefit is the productive links that we have developed with manufacturers and I am delighted that we have been able to pioneer a revenue share business model which, I believe puts us at the forefront of low stake high volume gaming in the UK."
Praesepe's stated pan-European strategy is to create a portfolio of low stake high volume gaming interests incorporating slots, sports/pool betting, bingo and gaming operations across the UK, Czech, Spanish, Italian, Dutch and German markets.
