The Amusement and Music Owners Association of New York (AMOA-NY) believes the law is vital to protecting operator-location agreements. The trade group aims to protect its latest contract samples, which stipulates service terms between operators and locations, and is available only for members.

By copyrighting the contracts, the AMOA-NY hopes to eliminate widespread unauthorized duplication by registering its intellectual property. Association leadership believes this to be a very appealing member benefit. The group will take legal action against any non-member operator who uses a copy or even a “vague simulation” of the AMOA-NY contract. Past violators can also be sued.
