The American Amusement Machine Association (AAMA) has launched a new Facebook industry-themed “fan page”, called “Out-Of-Home Entertainment“. The social network site has 60 million U.S. members, and AAMA is positioning the page as the Internet hub for coin-op. They also want to reach the player base.
The page will benefit from regularly posted industry news, photos and events information. Industry members, amusement and music companies, as well as related out-of-home entertainment industries, are also welcome to post their news, photos and announcements.
The AAMA will continue to communicate its regular news updates by email, but the new Facebook page signals a gradual shifting of the association’s marketing strategy.
The Wall Street Journal reported that most of the top 200 retailers in the U.S. now host Facebook pages, so AAMA is keeping up with the times.
The Amusement and Music Operators Association (AMOA)-National Dart Association (NDA) recently launched a Twitter account www.twitter.com/ndadarts. The group aims to continually connect players from across the world to other players and the industry.
The NDA plans to use Twitter as a tool during the Team Dart tournament. It will communicate important news events, parties and profile winners. Taking advantage of social networking, the NDA is also on Facebook, MySpace, and YouTube.
