There were frenetic moments last month for the 10 licensees of the newslot connection networks. Up for grabs were approximately 60 thousand permits for the installation of the new gaming terminals called comma 6b, more commonly known as video lotteries. For approximately 57 thousand permits (14% of the permits for the New Slots) the licensees will have to pay an anticipated 15 thousand euro.
According to the data issued by the State Monopolies, approximately one fifth of the permits for the installation of the newslots are in the hands of Atlantis World: over 85 thousand pieces of equipment, equal to 21% of the total. The company competed for all the permits (nearly 12 thousand optional VLT permits) for a sum of more than 179 million euro, half of which had to be paid by last Friday.
Another fifth of the market is taken by Lottomatica: nearly 77 thousand New Slots (19%), with a possible expenditure for the company of more than 161 million euro (10,761 permits).
13% of the machines in circulation are from Gamenet, that amounts to 117 million for 7,805 permits. Cogetech (5,226 optional permits) must pay in excess of 78 million euro. Snai (5,052 permits) will have to pay out over75 million in two instalments. For the Sisal company with nearly 5 thousand new permits this will involve an expenditure of close to 74 million euro. In total one is talking about more than 850 million euro ending up in the State coffers by next June, with prior confirmation of the total number of permits by next March.
