A happy new year to all our readers and welcome to a new decade! I can look back on ten years writing about the industry and wonder at how things have changed. I vividly remember the launch of a revolutionary new pinball machine, called Pinball 2000, which unfortunately failed to set the industry alight and marked the end of Bally’s involvement in the sector.
A decade on, we have the news that coin-op’s remaining pinball supplier Stern has got new financing. Ten years ago ATEI on the ground floor of Earls Court was the only place most of us would be attending in late January. This year, we have a new BACTA show in a new location. Luckily, there are some things that haven’t changed too much. For me, the best part of the London shows will be seeing the familiar faces from all over the world, who after ten years, I hope I can now call friends.
