Showtime is upon us once again. Fingers crossed we won’t be trudging through snow to get to see the exhibitions this year. It has certainly been a cold and uncertain start to the new decade but as Tony Blair and his crew infamously once said “Things can only get better.”
I have an open mind when it comes to the shows. I look forward to recording my opinion in these pages after the event. This is a year that will shape our industry in one way or another and very well may result in our splitting away from our casino and sports better relations in order to go back to our family amusements roots.
I cannot judge whether this is a good or a bad thing for the industry as a whole. It will certainly suit some companies a lot better, while others will need to come off the fence and choose which side they want to stick with. Either that, or they will shell out for 2 stands at opposite ends of London for the same week in January.
