The technology that the Basque company EKASA has developed for its RETA project, (Telematic Betting Network), marks a great technological achievement, with features which in many respects are superior to those of the systems used by the large British companies with more than forty years experience. The five years spent on research and development prior to its implementation and EKASA’s accumulated experience in the Basque Region have allowed it to develop a product equipped with cutting-edge, solid and safe technology.
It is controlled from its Management Unit located in the Zamudio Technological Park (Biscay). For its part, Acordwin already represents nearly 20% of the machines in hotels and bars in Catalonia, as well as also having a significant presence in the arcade and bingo sector. Acordwin comes from Acord Joc (Associació Catalana d’Operadores Recreatives del Joc), an organization formed by the small and medium-sized independent companies in the leisure sector, with a strong knowledge of the market and the Catalan business mix, created to satisfy the requirements of the companies in the sector and to be a reference organization for Gaming in Catalonia. Both companies will form a joint company whose objective is to obtain a permit that will allow them to initiate the activity in Catalonia. With its entry into the Catalan market, RETA will be responsible for the management of the business and will contribute its `know-how’ and its leading-edge technology, which will be licensed under the name of the joint company.
