Money handling firm Money Controls believes that innovation, flexibility and efficiency are essential requirements for its customers. These elements are designed into all of Money Controls’ products, and the service that its team delivers. And this customer-driven approach has resulted in an increasing number of OEMs across the globe specifying the use of Money Controls’ products for their gaming machines.
The Ardac Elite bill acceptor is one of the most advanced products available from Money Controls. Its full-note image-scanning and four-way barcode reading for tickets are just two features that can help operators improve profitability, through high acceptance rates and player satisfaction.
Unlike some acceptors which only scan part of the note, the Ardac Elite scans the whole note. This means that in the event of a player dispute, the last bill entered can be viewed on a hand-held PDA, plugged in through a USB port. Its exceptionally high acceptance rates mean that even notes in very poor condition are accepted, resulting in a decrease in costly, aborted transactions.
Money Controls also produces a full range of hoppers to meet the needs of the amusements industry. The Universal Hopper has sold millions worldwide and is said to offer reduced operating costs and an extended operating lifetime. Its large capacity also reduces the number of times it needs to be refilled – the Universal Hopper can hold up to 1200 €1 coins, 950 £1 coins, or 1500 U.S. quarters.
The Universal Hopper has a long life with minimal maintenance, thus reducing the overall cost of ownership. Jams are prevented by continuous agitation of the coins in the hopper and the auto-reverse function. Money Controls’ Compact Hopper, meanwhile, offers high security and high speed for single denominations, and can be used with either standard or ccTalk interfaces.
DES encryption
All of Money Controls’ products provide high levels of security. While casinos lready have tight security, for those machines installed elsewhere, it is a very different story – in places like arcades, motorway services and pubs, fraud is a constant issue. This is why Money Controls launched a full range of ccTalk Data Encryption Standard (DES) encrypted products at this year’s IGE.
Using literally quadrillions of potential combinations – 72,057,594,037,927,936 to be precise – Money Controls’ DES-encrypted products offer a significant weapon in combating fraud. Unlike other encryption protocols, this technology allows every payment device and machine to potentially have a different DES key, which can be changed by the host machine. In the very unlikely event someone cracks the DES key they will only have the code for one machine, and this can be changed as often as required. It can even be altered every few minutes by the machine’s software.
But innovation is not limited to security. A technology exclusive to Money Controls is its PayLink hardware, used in conjunction with its coin hoppers and coin and bill acceptors. PayLink connects to a PC using a single USB point and allows credit handling, audit information, error checking and diagnostics.
And by using the ccTalk protocol, systems and products can benefit from low-cost hardware, increased security, superior fault-code reporting, and real-time monitoring of cash transactions. When new coins or bills are introduced, software can be downloaded remotely, thus minimising costs.
To further support Money Controls’ products there is a comprehensive range of tools, spares and accessories. These support tools enable swift and simple updates of software as needed – for example, after the introduction of new bank notes. When the new £20 note was introduced in the UK, 20,000 machines fitted with Money Controls’ Ardac Elite bill acceptors were updated overnight with no downtime for operators. In the event that something does go wrong with a Money Controls product, the firm’s repair departments in Spain, Italy and the UK can quickly restore them to factory standard.
Steve Wood, Money Controls’ Commercial Manager, says: “At Money Controls we’re easy to work with and really do listen to our customers. From creation of practical, innovative solutions, through to after-sales servicing, we see ourselves and our customers as business partners. This approach means that we continue to lead the way in providing high-performance products with real customer benefits. Money Controls’ customers get best value as standard and if they need something slightly different, we can provide that too.”
To provide these solutions for all of its customers, Money Controls has a network of sales and support offices around the world. There’s also more information on the firm’s Website at www.moneycontrols.com
