The Ministry of Culture China has published the regulations for commercial game machines at arcades. According to the new regulations, all game machines have to be examined and approved before they are distributed into the market. The new regulations apply from May 1 2010, so it is estimated that there will be a machine replacement cycle at that time. For example, IGS is expected to be a beneficiary because it will cooperate with SEGA to launch new game machines meeting the demand of new regulations.
Currently, it is very common to divide the game market into two sections. One is online gaming featuring software design; the other is the game machine featuring the OEM model. However, IGS produces both of these. In addition, IGS has gradually become a leading company in the game market by rapid growth in emerging markets such as China and East Europe.
GTI Asia China Expo 2010
Last year the GTI Expo went into China for the first time with the GTI Asia China Expo, which took place at the Liuhua Exhibition Center, Guangzhou City. The first GTI Asia China attracted 110 exhibitors showcasing products on a show floor spanning 9,300 square meters. For those who intend to tap into the China marketplace, GTI Asia China Expo is the most direct channel for facing Chinese companies and understanding market trends of Chinese industry.
The 2nd GTI Asia China Expo will relocate to the Poly World Trade Center, Pazhou, Guangzhou, China. Taking place on August 26~28, the event plans about 800 standard booths on a show floor spanning 16,000 square meters. Feiloli debut in Taipei
Feiloli Electronic Company of Taiwan, co-maker of the Cotton Candy Factory with VendEver in the USA, debuted the Asian version of their popular machine at the recent GTI Expo in Taipei.
Feiloli President Chiming Tsai said it was the first time that his company had ever shown their machine to Asian customers, instead choosing to launch first in the USA at Amusement Expo last March. Ivan Ding, Director of Sales for Feiloli worldwide, said “It was so busy throughout the entire show. People were constantly asking about this machine and would wait patiently in line for a taste of delicious cotton candy. It was going non-stop! I knew it was a big success in America, because I was at the show in Las Vegas and saw that people loved it in the VendEver booth. But I was surprised that we would get such a great response here in Asia. Actually, we took orders from customers all over the world!”
Brian Duke, President & CEO of VendEver, was also on hand at the GTI Expo to assist their partner. “I arrived on the second day because we were also exhibiting at the NAMA One Show, so I missed the first day,” explained Duke. “Feiloli was only using regular sugar for a 100% Natural Cotton Candy with no artificial flavors, colors or preservatives. I brought some Vanilla Pink Flossine from Gold Medal with me from our exhibition in Chicago for Feiloli to try. It was the first time many people had ever tasted a flavored cotton candy and the smell drew even more people to the booth. It was a huge hit.”
Duke pointed out that VendEver has exclusive rights to the Cotton Candy Factory for both North & Latin America. Feiloli will handle sales to the rest of the world, including Europe and Asia. Because of the simplicity and consistently beautiful product made by their machine, Feiloli and VendEver have quickly emerged as the leaders in fresh cotton candy vending.
