Schmidtgruppe from Coesfeld and Berlin-based Bally Wulff Entertainment have joined forces with the German Football Association to ensure that the German World Cup team is supplied with the latest games at their training camps for the World Cup in South Africa. The first phase of the deal means the team will have the choice of finest equipment, including pool and football tables, during their free time at the team’s pre-tournament Italian training camps in Sicily and South Tyrol.
Then, once the World Cup starts on June 11, 2010, Bally Wulff and Schmidtgruppe will be responsible for furnishing a variety of leisure equipment at the German national team’s tournament headquarters near Pretoria. A game of pool or table football will provide the perfect way for players to relax before and after playing a World Cup match.
“We are glad to supply these leisure facilities for the German national team’s World Cup camps and will offer them some great entertainment options during their free time between matches,” said Robert Hess, Media and Information Centre Manager at Schmidtgruppe and Francesco Vescio, Marketing Manager of Bally Wulff in a joint statement. “In order to produce first class performances, players need first class entertainment, and that is what our companies are offering with this partnership.”
Oliver Bierhoff, manager of the German national side, also offered his opinion on the deal. “With the preliminary rounds, this could be a very long tournament so we need to give the team interesting, high quality leisure options during their break times. We are therefore very glad to have found professional partners, who are leaders in their field, and who can draw on such a wide catalogue of modern products.”
