UK pubs continue to invest in gaming and entertainment systems, with pubcos TCG and Enterprise Inns both awarding large contracts.
Gamestec has won a two-year deal to supply systems to TCG, whose chief operating officer Nigel Wright said: “We were impressed by Gamestec and have given them a percentage of our business going forward. They have undergone major changes over the past two years and we believe they can provide a new approach to our leisure-machines offering.”
Paul Bowgett, customer relations director at Gamestec, part of Danoptra Gaming Group, said: “We will be working closely with TCG to ensure they maximise revenue from Gamestec’s staple of exclusive products for the pub market.”
Enterprise Inns, meanwhile, is to add server-based gaming supplied by Scientific Games subsidiary Games Media to a further 250 sites.
Games Media has been rolling its systems out to the pub owner's locations since 2007, and the new contract will bring the total number of Enterprise pubs featuring its Ju!ce AWP and Ind:E:II SWP to 500. That remains, however, a small fraction of Enterprise's 7000-plus sites.
Russell Wood, head of retail services at Enterprise, said: “The increase in digital sites is a result of positive revenue performance as well as our confidence in Games Media. Machine income is a key revenue stream for many pubs. The digital platform broadens the customer entertainment offer through a mix of high-quality, engaging gaming content and provides a sound base for further development and revenue generation for the pub.”
Games Media's managing director Andrew Ludlow added: “We have worked in close partnership with Enterprise on the development of a number of new initiatives, such as Ticket Out.”
The games supplier also has systems installed at a further 1000 pubs owned by other firms.
